is an integral component of the PHIRN’s overall knowledge exchange strategy. It is an IT link to community health stakeholders and researchers, decision-makers and practitioners from across Canada around current and pressing community health issues. The goals are to share and discuss leading edge research and application and to support mobilization and evidence-informed programs, services and policies.


It’s key tool is the Fireside Chats of which there have been over 350 hosted since 2006 to over 17,000 participants!


CHNET-Works! Fireside Chats are held Tue/WedThurs between 1:00 - 2:00/3:00 Eastern Time from September to June.

The presentations are held in English, French, Bilingual formats with:

  • No registration fees
  • No travel costs
  • No green house gas emissions
